Calico Cats Personality

Q: I had got a calico cat few weeks ago. She seems to be loving, hyper and hungry kind of cat. I want to know whether these calico cat personality is quite fine for calico cats or something different?

A: Basically, calico cats personality seems loving, hungry nature and all that what you had said. Calico cats are more dominant type as comparison to all other type of cats. These cats are females and fun-loving.


Q: I am thinking of having a four year old calico cat. Can someone tell me about their temperament?

A: Calico cats are different in color but not in body types. Also the temperament depends of the type of calico cats like a siamese calico cat will have a loud voice. On the other hand, persian calico seems less demanding and quiet. Some calico's seems emotional and some naughty and some others are serious, strong and protective depending upon their personality.


Q: I heard so many times that orange tabby cats are aloof and mean, calicos have strong personality, yellow cats are emotional etc. I want to know if there is any relation between the color and the personality of the cats?

A: Generally, cats behavior depends upon their breed but not on the color. May be some people notice similar behaviour among cats of same color. But mainly the personality of the calico cats and all others must depend upon their breeds only and also if they are male or female cats.


Q: I had got a 3yrs old calico cat who is affectionate and beautiful. I am confused about the name I must put her. Any suggestions.

A: Most of the people put names of their cats whether calico or tortoise depending upon their looks or behavior. You can put your calico cat name like gracy as she is beautiful or afferent which means the goddess of love, Bella, Sheba, Misty and Shalimar etc. You can also search online for your cats name and their meanings and put whatever you want.

A: Yes there are lots of websites for cats and dogs. You can search online for various websites related to cats, their color and behaviour. Also you can search for the books on amazon, ebay etc for shopping of a book or cd whatever you would like to buy related to your calico cat.


Q: My calico had seems to be naughty as she scratches everywhere at the doors, walls etc. I don't want to dewclaw her. What must I do to change her behavior?

A: It seems your calico cat had not much space for playing. They usually likes high window seats from where they can see outside for keeping themselves busy. Also you can let her outside for a walk in the morning or evening to keep her fresh and moody. Also you can purchase some soft cats toys or meals which she likes to keep her busy.
