Choosing Plants for Aquarium

Aquariums which are embedded with plants always appeal well. Aquarium plants not only enhance the beauty of an aquarium but it is very useful too. Plants are not only use for mere decoration but they have a role to play too. Fish are more contented and relaxed around the plants. Plants in an aquarium act as a useful component as for the very well known fact that plant produces oxygen and absorbs carbon dioxide

Placing real plants in aquarium needs proper care as dead and decaying parts should be removed regularly. Live aquarium plants can develop snails and hydra which can be harmful for the fish.

Real plants need some kind of nutrients and fertilizers. An aquarium with real plants more light without it plants would not be able to produce oxygen and even die.
The other option can be use of artificial plants. They are much easier to maintain than a real plant. While choosing artificial plants for aquariums one should go by the silk plants than the plastic plants. As silk plants are easier to clean than plastic plants.

Real plants check the growth of the algae. Unfavourable conditions within the aquarium will first affects the plant which act as an indicator that fishes would be affected soon.

While placing a planted aquarium in home one has to be careful while opting plants as some of the plants are sold as aquatic plant but they are actually not. As they look good but die within a month.
A combination of artificial and real plant in an aquarium proves to be a good option.
